A PlayStation 4 virtual reality headset, created by Sony, has been rumored to appear at just about every major trade show in the past year. Vague reports circulate that it will be shown to the public for the first time at [NAME OF NEXT EVENT], but it somehow always fails to materialize. The latest stories claim that well see it during the Game Developers Conference in March. Its an exciting idea, made more so in the wake of known virtual reality hardware such as the Oculus Rift and the STEM system. 2014 is going to be filled with headsets, controllers and equipment that is both functional and relatively affordable, at least in comparison to the historical prices of such equipment. The most challenging aspect of this business may not be hardware, however. Its games. If Sony wants to get into the nascent world of retail virtual reality it has to treat any possible product as a console launch, not a peripheral.

Ken Levine (creator of the Bioshock series) once said that the most important element of good game writing is brevity, and there are few genres which allow writers to tell their stories in a concise and clean manner more than the anthology.

Sony is going to reveal its virtual reality headset for PlayStation 4 at this year's Game Developers Conference, if a recent report is to be believed.

An inside source shared the "news" with TechRadar, which is reporting: Rumours of Sony's PS4 virtual reality headset have been running rife since last year, but now an inside source has told TechRadar that they've spent some time with the helmet behind closed doors - and it's almost ready to be revealed.
